I’ve just woken up and can’t get back to sleep it’s about 5am in the morning and annoyingly its not my son’s screaming that has awoken me..
I’m confused as i’m sure others are by the ‘is it, isn’t it RESTful’ discussions and this morning i thought if there’s one way to get me back to sleep its got to be reading about REST. So I begun to trawl the net for some good resources and as if by demand Raj has begun a great mini series to help idiots like me try and get a better handle on REST and its implications for GIS. Thank you.
Anyway during my journey to try and get some ‘REST’ I noticed that the brilliant We Feel Fine has released what one might consider a RESTful API (i wouldn’t know as I still feel a little confused). Here is their rather wonderful description of the API:
“Borrowing is a great tradition in art; each individual piece of art is part of a larger conversation. With technology-based art, we have the ability to enable borrowing more directly by opening up APIs to our work. Accordingly, we have opened up an API for We Feel Fine, to allow other artists to more easily make pieces that explore these human emotions. Since we are borrowing from the feelings of thousands of people across the world to make our piece, we find it fitting for other artists to be able to borrow from our work to make theirs. We are eager to see where this conversation will take us.”
Brilliant! We Feel Fine is a real gem.
